Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Local Delivery Driver (CDL A or B) in Spokane, WA. This role focuses on safe delivery operations, regulatory compliance, and timely service. Compensation ranges from $28.50 to $35.25 per hour, with Monday–Friday schedule (5 a.m.–4 p.m.). Comprehensive benefits and 401(k) with company match are provided after 30 days.

The driver will load/unload trucks, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and maintain DOT records while supporting customers and inventory needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HazMat and Airbrake endorsements.
• At least 1 year of CDL driving in the last 5 years or proof of trucking school completion in the last 12 months.
• Maintain valid driver's license, medical card and endorsements.
• No more than two traffic convictions or one at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
• No DUI within seven years and must work in a drug-free environment.
• Able to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safety and Vehicle Compliance: maintain a safe driving record, licenses, PPE usage, and comply with DOT and regulations.
• Delivery and Logistics: load/unload, timely deliveries, ensure load documents are accurate.
• Administrative Tasks: maintain DOT records, pull orders, collect payments.
• General Duties: assist customers with inventory/delivery needs and be available for overtime.

This role centers on ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Safety and Vehicle Compliance:Maintaining a safe driving record and appropriate licensing, strict adherence to company safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively identifying workplace hazards. This also involves performing required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Delivery and Logistics:Loading and unloading service trucks, performing timely scheduled and non-route deliveries to meet customer satisfaction, and ensuring all necessary load documents are accurate and available.
• Administrative Tasks:Promptly and accurately maintaining all required company and DOT records, identifying potential cylinder problems, pulling orders from the warehouse, and collecting and submitting all customer payments.
• General Duties:Providing support to internal and external customers regarding inventory and delivery needs, and being available for occasional mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays for on-call duty.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months
• Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
• Must be able to work in a drug‑free environment
• Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
