Job summary

Airgas in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Local Delivery Driver (CDL B) to operate from a branch or plant with a company‑provided truck. You will safely handle cylinders while building strong customer relationships and supporting a team that values work‑life balance.

Responsibilities include loading, delivering, and recording deliveries, complying with SAFECOR and government regulations, and assisting in warehouse tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
• 1 year of CDL driving in last 5 years.
• Hazmat endorsement available post-offer if needed.
• Clean MVR.
• Current Medical Card.
• Ability to read MSDS data sheets.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs and up to 125 lbs with assistance.
• Able to drive hazardous cargo up to 8 hours.
• Overtime may be required.
• Must be 21+.

Responsibilities

• Return empty or unrecyclable cylinders to plant or branch for refilling.

Overview

Operating from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company‑provided straight or box truck, the Service & Delivery Professional coordinates the flow of cylinders while building lasting relationships with the customers visited. The role is part of a supportive team that encourages personal growth and internal mobility, while ensuring work/life balance.

Responsibilities

• Cylinder Handling: Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Record Keeping: Accurately record deliveries and pick‑ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Warehouse Support: Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age
• HazMat Required
• Must have one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last 5 years or have graduated from an accredited driving school.
• Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement. Hazmat can be obtained post‑offer.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Current Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.
