Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cylinder Handling: Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Record Keeping: Accurately record deliveries and pick‑ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Warehouse Support: Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Hazmat & Tanker Endorsement (or willing to obtain).
• Must have one year of prior Class B professional driving experience within the last five years and a clean driving record to include no more than two convictions, or two at-fault accidents in the last three years; or no more than a combination of one conviction and one at-fault accident in the last three years.
• In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school.
• Must be at least 21 years or older.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25-75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification.
