Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Local Delivery Driver (CDL A or B) for South Bend, IN. The role involves delivering to customers with 10–12 stops daily, handling freight, and completing required paperwork to ensure excellent service.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain accurate delivery records, and coordinate any needed vehicle maintenance. A hazmat endorsement and a valid CDL are required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of consecutive driving experience or recent Truck Driving School certification.
• Valid Class A or B CDL.
• Hazmat endorsement expected within 60 days of hire.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• No major driving violations in past two years.
• No alcohol-related convictions in last ten years.
• Must pass DOT physical and obtain medical certificate.
• Ability to lift at least 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers with 10–12 stops per day, handling freight and paperwork.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities and styles delivered and picked up.
• Complete hazardous material shipping papers per DOT regulations.

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will deliver products to customers by making an average of 10-12 stops per day, while touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service
• Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
• You are expected to complete hazardous material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT regulations
• Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
• You will build both relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet goals and objectives of the business and customer needs
• You will continuously build your knowledge on how Linde’s business operates and succeeds to help organization to continue growing

What Makes You Great

• You have a high school diploma or GED, along with proficiency in reading and writing in English
• You will have two (2) years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification from a Truck Driving School, along with a valid Class A or B CDL
• This role requires you to be 21 years or older
• You currently have a hazmat endorsement on your CDL or must obtain one within 60 days of hire
• You are expected to not have any preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two (2) years
• No alcohol-related convictions within the last ten (10) years
• You must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
• You have the ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required
