Local Delivery Driver (CDL A or B) (Transportation)

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Local Delivery Driver (CDL A or B) in South Bend, IN. Join a dynamic team as a safety-focused Truck Driver and help make the world more productive every day!

Linde drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and associated products, following a computer-generated local route to customer locations. This position is physically active and includes loading/unloading at client sites. Linde drivers engage with customers by responding to their needs and providing excellent customer service.

What you will be doing (1st shift: 4:00AM - 1:00PM):

1. Deliver products to customers by making an average of 10-12 stops per day, while touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service.
2. Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up.
3. Complete hazardous material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT regulations.
4. Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
5. Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance.
6. Build relationships with internal and external customers to meet business goals and customer needs.
7. Continuously build your knowledge on how Linde's business operates and succeeds.
8. Other duties as assigned.

What makes you great:

1. 2 years of consecutive driving experience or a certification from an accredited Truck Driving School.
2. Valid class A or B CDL is required.
3. Current Hazmat Endorsement on CDL strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
4. No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or other moving violations in the past 2 years.
5. No alcohol-related convictions within the last 10 years.
6. Pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate.
7. Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
8. Read and write in English.
9. High School or G.E.D. is required.
10. 21 years or older.
11. Effective organizational, listening, and communication skills.
