How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As the "face of Airgas," the Local Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. The Local Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers.

As a Local Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will be part of a professional team that encourages internal mobility and offers a work/life balance. Airgas operates a modern fleet, most vehicles under 6 years old, equipped with driver-friendly technology such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance, latest camera technology, and GPS navigation.

Position Title: LOCAL DELIVERY DRIVER
Location: Texarkana, TX
Schedule: Monday - Friday, local deliveries. Home Daily!
Vehicle Requirements: Straight Truck - Class A or B CDL with Hazmat Endorsement (required).

In particular, you will:

• Drive trucks over established routes to deliver and sell products, performing duties such as:

• Deliver gases and hard goods to customers' businesses.
• Perform non-routed deliveries to provide products.
• Write customer orders and instructions.
• Record sales or delivery information daily.
• Resolve service complaints.
• Distribute sales promotion materials.
• Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected merchandise; load truck.
• Obtain customer signatures on receipts.
• Clean inside of truck and perform routine maintenance checks.
• Comply with company policies and DOT requirements.
• Assist inside store and service customers at dock, counter, and phone.
• Attend safety meetings.
• Assist other drivers as needed.

Are you a MATCH?

• At least 1 year of Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last 5 years or graduated from an accredited driving school.
• Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (Hazmat can be obtained post-offer).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Current Medical Examiner's Card.
• Ability to read and understand safety data sheets.
• Ability to lift 25-75 lbs routinely, occasionally over 125 lbs with equipment.
• Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending required.
• Work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Occasional overtime may be necessary.
