How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As the "face of Airgas," the Local Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. The Local Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers.

As a Local Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will be a part of a professional team that encourages internal mobility while offering our employees a work/life balance. In addition, Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet. Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation.

Position Title: LOCAL DELIVERY DRIVER

Location: Texarkana, TX

Schedule: Monday - Friday, local deliveries. Home Daily!

Requirements:

• Class A or B CDL with Hazmat Endorsement (Hazmat can be obtained post-offer).
• One year of Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last 5 years or graduation from an accredited driving school.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Current Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Ability to lift 25 – 75 lbs. routinely, and occasionally over 125 lbs. with equipment.
• Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending required.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and occasional overtime.

Responsibilities include:

1. Driving truck over established routes to deliver gases and hard goods.
2. Performing non-route deliveries as needed.
3. Writing customer orders and instructions.
4. Recording sales or delivery information.
5. Resolving service complaints and issuing promotional materials.
6. Collecting empty containers, loading trucks, and obtaining signatures.
7. Performing routine maintenance and cleaning inside the truck.
8. Complying with all policies and DOT requirements.
9. Assisting inside store and with other drivers as needed.
10. Attending safety meetings.
