Job summary

Airgas in Redwood City, CA is hiring a Local Delivery Driver to safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders, maintain delivery records, and support the warehouse team.

We require a Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements, a clean safety record, and the ability to regularly lift heavy weights. Benefit-rich role with competitive pay and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat & Airbrake endorsements.
• Hazmat is required; candidates must already have Hazmat.
• Maintains driver license, medical card and endorsements.
• No more than two traffic convictions or one at-fault and one conviction in last 3 years.
• No DUI in last seven years; able to work in a drug-free environment.
• Regularly lift 75lbs and move over 125lbs with equipment.
• 1 year of CDL driving experience or proof of completion from trucking school.

Operating from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck, you willmanage the flowof cylinders whilebuilding lasting relationshipswith the customers you visit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cylinder Handling:Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Record Keeping:Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Safety and Compliance:Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Warehouse Support:Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

A Day in the Life of an Airgas Delivery Driver:

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements
• Hazmat IS REQUIRED. CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED UNLESS THEY CURRENTLY HAVE THEIR HAZMAT
• Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment
• Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
