As a Procedural Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care using the nursing practice model. Responsibilities include assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, and developing personalized care plans. You will regularly assess patient responses to ensure safe navigation through healthcare, preventing complications and delays. Tasks should be delegated based on Texas nursing laws, patient conditions, and staff skills.
Use clinical judgment to assess patients and prioritize needs. Create and modify care plans for optimal outcomes. Evaluate nursing practices to ensure quality, involving tracking indicators, research, and quality improvement initiatives. Educate patients and staff, integrating teaching into care at all levels. Apply systems thinking to solve problems for patients, families, and staff. Contribute to a positive work environment through professionalism and meaningful recognition.
Deep understanding of nursing standards and procedures, legal, regulatory, and professional standards is essential. Certification and departmental policies familiarity are important. Effective verbal and written communication skills are critical. Critical thinking to address problems and monitor patient health effectively is necessary. Providing patient-centered care that respects diversity is a key success factor.
Minimum two years of experience or completion of an accredited nursing program. Specialization in Nursing preferred. Some relevant professional experience is desirable, though less than one year may suffice. Must be a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
