Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking a Virtual Triage Nurse (RN) to support our Virtual Care Program. This remote position is open to candidates across Texas or outside Texas, provided you hold an RN license recognized by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

As the largest community oncology provider in the U.S., with over 600 providers across 220+ sites in Texas and southeastern Oklahoma, our mission is to deliver accessible, high-quality cancer care using advanced technology and research. We treat half of all Texans diagnosed with cancer annually.

Role Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs via calls, portal messages, and emails, managing symptoms and side effects promptly.
  • Determine urgency and coordinate appropriate care, aiming to reduce emergency visits.
  • Document all patient interactions thoroughly.
  • Provide clear instructions and education to patients remotely.
  • Collaborate with physicians through various communication methods to address complex care needs.
  • Arrange same-day or future appointments for symptom management.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of oncology nursing experience.
  • Current RN license in Texas or recognized state.
  • CPR certification required.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a traditional office environment with standard clinic hazards. Must be able to perform computer-based tasks frequently, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
