Job summary

Phaxis is seeking a local contract nurse RN Gastroenterology for a Charlotte, North Carolina, position. The role focuses on pre-op and post-op outpatient care in a GI setting, with a standard 8-hour days schedule and 40 hours per week.

The RN will perform treatments, IV starts, med administration, and patient triage while coordinating with physicians and staff. North Carolina licensure and BLS are required; GI experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of RN experience in GI preferred (not required).
• BLS certification required.
• Active North Carolina RN license (or compact) required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out provider-ordered treatments and administer medications.
• Start IVs, administer IV fluids, and monitor patient responses.
• Complete medication refills, prior authorizations, forms, and electronic orders.
• Triage patient calls and determine the appropriate urgency and level of care.
• Direct patients to a provider, urgent care, or the emergency department when appropriate.
• Participate in emergency response procedures when necessary.
• Support Medical Assistants and help maintain efficient patient flow.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient communication.
