Job summary

Yelp seeks a Community Intern to join the Marketing/Community team in Long Island, NY, for a 6‑month development program. You will learn social media management, event planning, and community building while supporting local outreach online and in person.

Responsibilities include planning events, creating regional social content, and helping maintain Yelp’s local business listings with guidance from a Community Manager. Must reside in Long Island and be at least 21.

Qualifications

• Current college student, college graduate, or considering a career change to community building.
• Reside in Long Island, NY with reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with planning and coordinating events.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
• Flexibility to work 10‑19 hours per week, Mon–Fri; some weekend work possible.

Responsibilities

• Work with Community Manager to understand market and messages.
• Plan and execute events including parties, meet-ups, and happy hours.
• Create and organize social media content aligned with regional goals.
• Support Yelp's local listings by flagging photos and ensuring accuracy.
• Engage with Yelpers via app/website to build online community.
