Job summary

XPO Logistics is seeking a Class B Local Truck Driver for Newark, NJ to support regional routes and serve customers directly at docks. This full-time role involves operating straight trucks GVWR 26,001+ and representing XPO with a strong safety focus.

Daily duties include loading/unloading with forklifts and pallet jacks, coordinating at dock stops, and maintaining a flexible 12–14 hour schedule across day, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid Class B CDL free of air brake restrictions.
• Endorsements Hazmat and Tank must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Medical and safety: DOT drug screen negative, DOT physical, and Federal Medical Certificate as Non-Exempt Interstate.
• Sufficient English to read highway markers, complete dispatch records, and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate straight trucks safely for local routes and on-site dock tasks.
• Load and unload cargo using sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Interact professionally with dock personnel and identify sales leads at route stops.
• Maintain a flexible schedule with shifts up to 12–14 hours across day, night, and weekends.
