Job summary

XPO is hiring a Class B Local Truck Driver in Newark, NJ. The role requires a CDL B, a clean driving record, and ability to pass DOT tests. Expect a flexible schedule with day/night/weekend shifts and competitive hourly pay. Benefits start on day one, including health, life, disability coverage and 401(k) options.

You will operate straight trucks, load/unload freight, and follow state regulations while maintaining safety and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Class B CDL without air brake restriction.
• Safe driving record and history.
• Pass a DOT drug test and have no prior positive tests or refusals.
• Pass a company‑paid DOT physical and pre‑hire test.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule up to 12–14 hours daily.
• Ability to obtain Federal Medical Certificate and self‑certify as Non‑Exempt Interstate.
• Hazardous materials and tank endorsements within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a straight truck (GVWR ≥26,001 lb).
• Provide excellent service to customers, including generating sales leads.
• Load and unload freight.
• Operate a straight truck per state regulations for intrastate operations.
• Operate a forklift and pallet jack to load/unload freight.
