Belfonte Job Opening: Class B Relief Driver

Belfonte currently has openings for a Class B relief driver. This position involves training on all routes and covering for vacations and time off. It is a salary position, with drivers working 34-45 hours per week.

Core Requirements:

• Must have a Class B commercial driver's license
• Minimum age 21, as per Federal D.O.T regulations
• Must pass D.O.T Physical and Drug Screen
• Experience: Past route sales experience and a good driving record are preferred

Responsibilities:

The sales route driver shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Driving the truck over established routes to deliver and sell products or provide services within the dairy industry to customers' businesses
• Following all Department of Transportation Regulations
• Collecting payments, making change, and recording transactions on customer receipts
• Writing customer orders and instructions, recording sales or delivery information, and calling on prospective customers to solicit new business
• Preparing order forms and sales contracts, informing regular customers of new products or services, and resolving service complaints

Physical Requirements:

The candidate must be able to climb, crawl, and walk in both upright and bent positions to:

• Load and unload products at destinations
• Place stock on shelves or racks
• Set up merchandise and sales displays
• Issue sales promotion materials to customers
• Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected/unsold merchandise

The route sales driver will need to handle items weighing up to 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet and stack milk weighing around 240 pounds. The job involves working in hot (>100°F) and cold (<32°F) environments and mostly outdoors throughout the year.

Additional Responsibilities:

The driver must keep the truck interior clean, perform routine maintenance, and drive safely, courteously, and efficiently.
