Job summary

Airgas in Tucker, GA is seeking a Local Class B Delivery Driver to load and deliver dry ice and provide exceptional customer service to our customers. This role requires a valid CDL A or B with airbrake endorsements and the ability to operate a standard transmission.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old.
• Valid Class CDL A or B with Airbrake endorsements.
• Must be able and licensed to drive a standard transmission.
• Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsement.
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or proof of trucking school in last 5 years.
• No more than two traffic convictions/at-fault accidents in last 3 years; or one of each.
• No DUI in last 7 years; must work in drug-free environment.
• Be able to regularly lift 75 lbs and move 125 lbs with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely navigate delivery vehicles to provide dry ice to customers' places of business.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment with safety.
• Obtain customer signatures and ensure load accuracy against manifests; collect empty boxes.
• Provide excellent customer service and relay insights to Branch Manager.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a professional vehicle environment.
• Uphold all company policies, safety procedures, and DOT/OSHA requirements.
• Ensure cargo stability during transit to maintain safety and product quality.

• Schedule: Home Daily (Monday - Friday) Overtime after 40 hours/week

As the largest supplier of dry ice, Airgas has established a series of production plants across the nation to develop a secure source supply. Distribution Branches are located in strategic locations throughout the country to provide service to key industries including universities and labs. Quality, reliability, and service are the key drivers that enable Airgas to grow with organizations who depend on dry ice and cold shipping supplies.

• Safely navigate delivery vehicles to provide dry ice to our customers' places of business, acting as a key contributor to their operations.

• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment with a focus on safety and precision to load and unload dry ice.

• Facilitate the documentation process by obtaining customer signatures; support the accuracy of piece counts against load manifests and collect empty dry ice boxes to be returned, ensuring a sustainable service cycle.

• Provide excellent customer service and share insights from customers with the Branch Manager to help us advance our collective service standards.

• Conduct thorough pre and post trip reviews on trucks according to DOT and company maintenance checklists. Maintain a professional environment inside the vehicle for your comfort and safety.

• Uphold and champion all company policies, safety procedures, and DOT/OSHA requirements to ensure a secure and supportive workplace.

• Ensure cargo stability prior to and during transit to maintain the highest standards of safety and product quality.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications

• At least 21 yrs old
• Valid Class CDL A or B & Airbrake endorsements
• Must be able and licensed to drive a standard transmission
• Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsement
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 5 years.
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment
• Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
