Span Alaska Transportation is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to safely pick up and deliver local freight in Anchorage and surrounding areas. The role combines driving with light freight handling and customer service in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting.

The driver will load/unload, file paperwork, and maintain professional standards while adhering to DOT regulations and company safety policies. This non-supervisory role offers near-home work with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months of relevant driving or freight experience or equivalent education.
• Experience driving multiple vehicle types in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication via radio and telephone.
• Customer-first mindset and professional demeanor.
• Ability to read schedules, maps, hazardous materials documents, and freight paperwork.
• Strong attention, decision-making, and prioritization abilities.
• Knowledge of proper and safe lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Safely pick up and deliver local freight using a variety of vehicles (flatbed, box, van, tractor trailers).
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, or containers as needed.
• Move freight within the yard or warehouse using forklift or other equipment.
• Complete and process required freight paperwork accurately and on time.
• Represent Span/MSTS professionally with customers, partners, and the public.
• Follow all DOT regulations and safety policies.
