Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Class A CDL Driver in Torrance, CA. You will deliver equipment to customers and return equipment in a timely, safe and courteous manner, serving as a company ambassador and a dependable team member.

The role requires a valid CDL-A, 2+ years DOT driving experience, and strong customer service skills. You will be responsible for logs, pre-trip inspections, and adhering to safety standards; you may lift up to 45 lbs and handle various construction equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers (low boys) per DOT CDL-A.
• Adhere to all safety requirements and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Maintain driver’s logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
