Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver for home daily schedules near Fort Wayne, IN, with frequent Chicago-area runs. Expect approximately 1,900 miles per week and a mix of drop/hook and live loads.

Earn $80,000–$88,000 average annual gross, plus a $5,000 bonus, with daily home time and a Sunday–Thursday shift pattern. Automatic trucks, slip-seat operation, and 18 paid days off (12 PTO + 6 holidays) are included.

Pay Details

• Average Annual Pay: $80,000–$88,000
• Average Weekly Pay: $1,600–$1,750
• $5,000 Bonus
• $56 customer live load/unload
• $28 customer drop/hook
• $15 out-of-route empty move or crosstown drop
• $15/hour rail delay pay after 1 hour
• $20/hour detention pay after 1.5 hours
• $25 per Hazmat load

Job Details

• Additional local work within a 100-mile radius of Fort Wayne
• Approximately 1,900 miles/week
• Primarily container pickup and delivery between customers and the rail yard
• Day shift: approximately 60% drop/hook and 40% live
• Night shift: approximately 80% drop/hook and 20% live

Shift Details

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience
• Clean driving record
• Valid DOT Medical Card
• Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days; reimbursement available
• Reliable transportation
• No SAP drivers
• Riders not permitted
