Job summary

GFL Environmental in Durham, NC is seeking a Front-End Commercial Driver (CDL) to join our local, home‑every‑night routes. You’ll operate front‑load trucks and hydraulic systems on a daily commercial route. The ideal candidate has a CDL Class A or B, 1+ year of experience, and a safety‑minded mindset.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of commercial driving experience, preferably front-load/waste industry.
• Familiarity with joystick controls and hydraulic lifting mechanisms.
• Strong commitment to safety guidelines and vehicle upkeep.
• Ability to get in and out of the cab and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front-end loading trucks and hydraulic systems to lift and empty waste containers in Durham, NC.
• Navigate local commercial sites and business parks with care and efficiency.
• Represent GFL as the face of the company to commercial partners and customers.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and truck reliability.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers to resolve routing issues as they arise.
