Job summary

City of Charleston in Charleston, WV seeks a dump truck operator to transport materials and support street maintenance. This role requires a schedule set by the Department Head, with possible nights, weekends and holidays, and mandatory overtime during snow/ice events.

Essential duties include loading and hauling materials, snow plowing, and operating the leaf collection truck. A High School Diploma or GED is expected; Class A or B CDL is required, endorsements preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a manual transmission.
• Ability to perform essential duties safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Picks up and transports rock, gravel, dirt, stone, sand blacktop and other materials and supplies.
• Dumps rock, gravel, dirt, stone, sand blacktop and other materials and supplies at job site and/or other designated location.
• Plows snow and ice, and dispenses road salt and/or other snow/ice treating materials.
• Drives and operates leaf collection truck.
• Performs manual labor as needed and/or requested.
