Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an experienced CDL driver for local, route-based responsibilities in the Magnolia area. You will service ADU containers, transport product to rendering facilities, and support safe, efficient operations.

Expect to perform pre-trip inspections, coordinate with dispatch, and follow all safety procedures. A valid CDL with 1 year of experience and a good driving record are required, with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year minimum CDL driving experience.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with acceptable driving record; Class A preferred.
• Meet DOT requirements (background check, drug screen, and physical).
• Must have acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned route safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Coordinate with dispatchers to ensure on-time scheduling.
• Follow safety procedures for transporting goods, including dangerous materials where applicable.
• Read maps and directions to determine vehicle routes and schedules.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and records after each shift.
• Adhere to company policies and safety protocols at all times.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.
