Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is hiring a Local Driver based in Granite City, IL. The role involves transporting raw materials and manufactured products regionally and globally, with most trips within 150 miles and nightly home time.

Expect on-site work, a 6:00 am to 2:30 pm schedule, and weekly pay. Hourly pay ranges from $25 to $30, with a CPM of $0.55–$0.60. Qualifying drivers must be at least 22 years old with 5+ years of experience and a valid Class A CDL, plus the ability to pass DOT

Qualifications

• Must be at least 22 years old with a minimum of 5 years of experience and a valid Class A CDL.
• Clean driving record; not cited for a DOT-defined accident in the past 3 years.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
• Knowledge of company policy and all federal, state, and local laws governing equipment operation.
• Ability to read and understand BOLs, freight logs, and related documents.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual trailer operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety with proper docs.
• Comply with DOT rules, company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Report defects, accidents, or violations.
• Ensure trailers are locked out and chocked before loading/unloading.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Stay in contact with supervisor, dispatcher and scale house for work instructions.
