Job summary

Ryder is hiring local CDL drivers to operate straight trucks on local routes with daily home time. Earn $1,706+ per week, with pay listed as $27.32 per hour for 50–60 hours per week. Schedule is Tuesday–Friday with occasional Saturdays; start time around 5:00 AM.

Comprehensive benefits follow after 30 days, with paid weekly payroll. Drivers will train on all equipment, including reefer trailers and pallets, and will work with heavy-touch beverage freight.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL required.
• 9 months of driving experience in the past 3 years.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass Ryder drug test.
• Must pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check incl. drug/alcohol verification.
• Must pass DOT physical and Ryder road test.

Responsibilities

• Drive local routes and be home daily.
• Follow safety procedures and traffic regulations.
• Complete training and operate equipment as required by the role.

Education

Valid Class A or B CDL

9 months of experience in the past 3 years

Minimum 21 years of age

Pass a Ryder Drug Test

Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check, incl. Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test

Schedule, Freight & Equipment:

• Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, occasional Saturday
• Start Time: 5:00 AM +/-
• Deliver solo to: Gilroy, Bay Area, Redding & Tahoe
• Tractor Type: Straight truck
• Trailer Type: Reefer, 16', 24' & 26'
• Equipment: Manual pallet jack, hand truck & lift gate
• Ryder will train you on all equipment needed to be successful
• Freight: Heavy Touch - Beverages
