Job summary

Airgas in Rutland, VT is hiring a Local Delivery Driver (CDL B) to transport compressed gas cylinders and hard goods to customers along designated routes. The role requires a Hazmat endorsement, 1 year of verifiable driving experience, and the ability to lift heavy loads.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
• Minimum 1 year verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs., and occasionally 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders, as well as hard goods, along designated routes.
• Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Handle the loading and unloading of all materials.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, noting any issues to ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company during all deliveries.
