Job summary

Silvi Materials in New Britain, PA is seeking a Concrete Truck Driver to deliver ready-mix concrete safely and on time.

Operate an 80,000 lb truck, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and communicate with dispatch as needed. CDL-A or CDL-B with a DOT Medical Card required; 1 year driving experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CDL-A or CDL-B license and a valid DOT Medical Card.
• Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Able to work a variable schedule; start times 12:00am–9:00am; daily plant call at 4/5pm.
• 1 year of preferred driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver concrete safely and on time; maintain the highest quality and safety standards.
• Operate an 80,000 lbs ready-mix truck in compliance with regulations.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and request repairs as needed.
• Load and pour concrete using ladders, chutes, and driving in areas with heavy traffic.
• Maintain delivery, truck, and driving records per company policy and regulations.
• Read delivery tickets and communicate with dispatch about deliveries.
• Clean residual concrete from the truck and barrel.

So what does a Silvi Materials Concrete Mixer driver do?

• Maintain the highest standard of quality and safety while ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of concrete.
• Operate an 80,000 lbs ready-mix truck in accordance with all federal and state regulations.
• Perform pre and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT guidelines; document and request required repairs as needed.
• Load and pour concrete according to procedures involving the use of ladders, main chutes, and extension chutes, as well as driving in and out of areas with heavy pedestrian and equipment traffic.
• Maintain delivery, truck and driving records in accordance with company policies, as well as federal and state regulations.
• Read delivery tickets and communicate with dispatch regarding all deliveries.
• Wash residual concrete and materials off and out of all areas of the truck and barrel.

Qualifications Required As a Silvi Materials Driver.

• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license CDL-A or CDL-B and have a valid DOT Medical Card
• Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Able to work a variable schedule. Start times are anywhere between 1200 am through 900 am. Requires calling in to the plant at 4/5pm daily.
• 1 year of preferred driving experience

• See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
• Use muscles to jump, sprint, or throw objects.
• Use muscles for extended periods of time.
• Be physically active for long periods of time.
• Determine from which direction a sound came.
• See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
