Job summary

Universal Logistics is seeking local CDL-A shuttle drivers in Detroit, MI to operate home daily on a first shift. This union position offers steady freight, predictable schedules, and daily home time.

Terminal location is 14250 Plymouth Rd, with a 5:00 am start and 2:30 pm finish. Expect 2–3 runs per day, 8–9 hour days, and overtime after 40 hours. Seniority-based route bidding occurs every six months.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Clean driving record with strong safety history.
• Ability to meet DOT requirements.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport materials between terminal and customer locations.
• Follow delivery schedules based on customer production needs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain DOT compliance at all times.
• Communicate with dispatch and operations teams.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
