Job summary

Universal Dedicated of Detroit is seeking reliable CDL-A drivers for local shuttle routes based in Detroit, MI. This union position offers steady freight, consistent schedules, and daily home time.

Pay starts at $21.00–$22.50 per hour depending on experience, with a jump to $24.25 after one year. The role includes a 2nd shift (2pm–11:30 pm), touch freight, and seniority-based route bidding every 6 months.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean driving record with strong safety history.
• Ability to meet DOT requirements.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport materials between terminal and customer locations.
• Follow delivery schedules based on customer production needs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain DOT compliance at all times.
• Communicate with dispatch and operations teams.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
