Job summary

Universal Dedicated of Detroit is seeking reliable Local CDL-A shuttle drivers for routes based in Detroit, MI. This union role offers steady freight, daily home time, and 8–9 hour days with 2–3 runs per day between terminal and customer locations.

First shift runs 5 am to 2:30 pm with overtime after 40 hours; seniority-based route bidding occurs every 6 months. Training includes a Train-to-Train program for recent grads, and the company emphasizes safety and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean driving record with strong safety history.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport materials between terminal and customer locations.
• Follow delivery schedules based on customer production needs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain DOT compliance at all times.
• Communicate with dispatch and operations teams.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
