Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, referred to as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator certification), is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum of 200 miles from their home branch, with all deliveries starting and ending at the branch, ensuring no overnight stays.

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Verify and confirm loaded inventory against purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, and confirm addresses and routing information before leaving the branch
• Conduct job site inspections, documenting any existing damage and noting the location of utilities and structures such as power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
• Capture photographs of all delivered building products in accordance with company policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each, from a straight bed truck; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus
• Safe driving record with no hit & runs, DWI, or DUI convictions within the last three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
• Experience in distribution is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials
• Must pass a drug test and hold a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the past 12 months
• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S., passing an E-Verify check
