Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Logistics Specialist II, with or without a Crane Operator certification, is to deliver building materials to customers' businesses or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum of a 200-mile radius of their home branch, with deliveries originating and ending at the branch (no overnight stays required).

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating all equipment in accordance with local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Verify and confirm inventory loaded on the truck, compare with purchase orders, sign off on delivery tickets, and confirm addresses on delivery tickets. Obtain routing information prior to leaving the branch.
• Conduct a job site inspection, document existing damage to lawns, landscaping, or driveways, and note the location of power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
• Capture pictures of all building products delivered, following Company Policy.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each from a straight bed truck; experience with forklift or Moffett preferred
• Safe driving record with no hit & runs or DWI/DUI convictions within the last three years. Recent accidents or violations will be reviewed by HR and Management.
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are a plus
• Experience in distribution is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials (rarely applicable)
• Pass a drug test and possess a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the last 12 months
• U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S., pass an E-Verify check
