Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, known as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator certification), is to deliver building materials to customers' businesses or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum of a 200-mile radius of their home branch, with deliveries originating and ending at the branch, typically allowing for home every night (no overnight stays).

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating all equipment in accordance with local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections
• Validate and confirm inventory loaded on the truck, compare with purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, and verify addresses and routing information prior to departure
• Conduct a job site inspection, documenting any existing damage and noting the location of features such as power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
• Capture photographs of all delivered building products following company policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each, using a straight bed truck; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus
• A safe driving record with no hit & runs, DWI, or DUI convictions within the last three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
• Experience in distribution or related fields is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials (rarely applicable)
• Pass a drug test, possess a current DOT medical certificate, and have no positive drug tests in the past 12 months
• U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S., with a valid E-Verify check
