Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, also known as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator certification), is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites. Drivers operate within a 200-mile radius of their home branch, with all deliveries originating and ending at the branch, ensuring no overnight stays are required.

• Safety Bonus
• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Verify loaded inventory against purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, confirm addresses, and obtain routing information prior to departure
• Inspect job sites for existing damage and document conditions, including proximity to power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
• Take pictures of delivered building products following company policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL
• Ability to load and unload building materials weighing up to 100 lbs. each; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus
• Safe driving record with no hit & run, DWI, or DUI convictions in the past three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
• Experience in distribution is preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, understanding)
• Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials
• Pass a drug test and hold a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the past 12 months
• Authorized to work in the U.S. and pass an E-Verify check
