Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is seeking a Local Truck Driver based in the Itasca/Bensenville area to perform regional deliveries with attention to safety and professional conduct. You will drive semi-tractors on local routes with strict adherence to DOT regulations and company standards.

The role requires a CDL A license and several years of driving experience; the job offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• CDL A License required.
• 2+ years CDL A driving in last 4 years; 3+ years preferred.
• Meet DOT qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41.
• Experience in load securement and route planning.
• Strong customer service and handling of sensitive cargo.
• Detail-oriented mindset.
• TWIC and Hazmat preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drives semi-tractor/trailers for up to 11 hours after 10 hours off-duty on runs of up to one week or more.
• P&D locally.
• Backs trailers to customer dock.
• Maintains compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe and professional driving behavior.
• Communicates with customer representatives in a pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner.
• Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers.
• Complies with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing.
• Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle.
• Ensure that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.
• Applies tire chains in inclement weather when required.
• Swings and secures trailer doors.
• Performs other duties as required.
