Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Local Delivery Driver for Allendale, New Jersey, to transport goods from distribution centers to local businesses and customers using a non-CDL DOT-regulated box truck. This on-site role requires safe driving, timely deliveries, and compliance with DOT and FMCSA requirements.

You will load/unload cargo, maintain delivery records, assist dispatch, and provide professional customer service.

Qualifications

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Non-CDL position; a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required.
Ability to meet DOT driver qualification requirements applicable to non-CDL drivers.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card.
Ability to pass DOT-required drug and alcohol testing.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role, preferably with box truck experience.
Excellent navigational skills and knowledge of local roads and neighborhoods.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weeknights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Transport goods using non-CDL DOT-regulated box trucks to designated locations within the tri-state area.
Load and unload cargo from the truck, ensuring items are handled carefully.
Maintain accurate delivery records and DOT documentation.
Provide professional customer service and ensure deliveries meet requirements.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance.
Adhere to DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
