Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. and its subsidiaries seek an experienced SCM leader to oversee daily Local & RM operations, ensure accurate planning, forecasting, and PO management with KPI oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field OR minimum of 12 years of specialized experience in supply chain/purchasing.
• 3+ years (senior) purchasing experience preferred to analyze materials forecasting based on SOP and production schedule.
• Conceptual knowledge of BOM structure to manage subcomponents and weekly requirements.
• Advanced in Excel to plan demand of parts, update PSI, and import HQ reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Local & RM operation, ensure accurate planning and forecasting, manage POs and KPIs.
• Manage costs associated with rework and coordinate with suppliers for payment.
• Coordinate PSI for production and communicate with Production Planning to determine cadence.
• Prioritize transport based on production requirements and manage container contents.
• Manage supplier contracts, CAPA, and items by model/color; oversee supplier relationships.
• Review Sales Operating Plans and confirm product quantities per available parts.
• Manage RTP ETD confirmations, BOM changes, and subcontract parts.
• Analyze data for aging, abnormal costs, material loss, auto PO rate, and RMA.
• Oversee steel and resin supply, shipments, container scheduling, and VMI inventory.
• Oversee JIT deliveries, Delivery Orders, assembly requests, and component availability.
• Prepare management and HQ reports; support audits; follow up on actions.
• People Management: train, mentor, evaluate, and manage leave and time cards.
• All other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

This position oversees/manage daily Local & RM operation for PSI, accurate planning and forecasting, PO managing, Steel Quota, KPI, and 3 SCM analysts.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Manage and update internal systems based on tariffs at various countries/commodities.
2. Manage costs associated with rework and submit to suppliers for payment.
3. Manage PSI for production and compiles/consolidates into a weekly confirm to the Production Planning team to determine production cadence/schedule.
4. Oversee contents within shipping containers and prioritize transport based on production requirements.
5. Manages contracts and relationship with critical suppliers. Supplier with lack of CAPA, Long-term Delivery items, Unique items by Model Color.
6. Reviews SOP [Sales Operating plans] provided by the Production Planning team and confirm the quantity of products produced based on available parts.
7. PO managing, Confirmation of RTP ETD, BOM change monitoring, Subcontract Part management.
8. Manage KPI and analyze data for Aging, Abnormal cost, Material Loss, Auto PO rate, RMA.
9. Manage steel and resin supply, including supplier commitments, imported shipments, container scheduling, and VMI inventory.
10. Oversee local and subcontract operations, including JIT deliveries, Delivery Orders, assembly requests, and component availability
11. Prepare management and HQ reports, support audit documentation requests, and follow up on assigned actions
12. People Management:
    • Train, mentor, guide, and coach associates as needed.
    • Monitor time keeping and approve time cards, which includes monitoring and calculating Bereavement Leave, FMLA, Jury Duty, Military Leave, PTO, STD, Parental Leave, etc.
    • Manage individual employee performance by conducting performance evaluations and delivering performance improvement notifications.
13. All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or other closely related major is required OR a minimum of 12 years of specialized training and job experience specifically with supply chain and/or purchasing.
2. Experience: 3+ years (senior) ; 3 plus years (senior level) of prior purchasing experience preferred to analyze materials forecasting based on SOP plan and concept of pull-in / push back ETD based on updated production schedule.
3. Knowledge: Requires conceptual knowledge of BOM structure for products to manage subcomponent parts and plan weekly requirements.
4. Skills: All employees for all positions must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs. Advanced in Excel to plan demand of parts and update PSI and import HQ reports.
