First Merchants Bank is seeking a Loan Servicing Associate to join our team to handle back-office loan operations with accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will respond to customer inquiries, guide loan processes, and resolve transactions affecting payments, escrows, and file documentation.

The role emphasizes reliability, willingness to learn multiple tasks, and maintaining meticulous loan files in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six months of financial service, customer service, or related processing experience is required.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; extended sitting up to 3 hours.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer phone and email inquiries in a professional, thorough, accurate and timely manner.
• Provide guidance related to established loan processes and procedures.
• Research questionable / incorrect transactions to complete resolution and minimize customer impact.
• Process loan transactions for payments, payoffs, exceptions, reversals, escrows, and corrections.
• Maintain Core processing system as needed.
• Produce and validate checks requested daily of loan operations.
• Prepare and submit accurate documentation for lien perfection / release for filing and follow up as needed.
• Maintain contents of physical files in the file room for all loans.

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Loan Servicing Associate to join our team! This position will perform a variety of back-office loan operations functions. Tasks are to be performed in a timely and accurate manner as they are deemed critical in accordance with Regulatory requirements and departmental procedures. The ideal candidate for this position will be flexible with regards to tasks assigned and be willing to learn multiple tasks as needed.

As part of this role you will:

• Respond to customer phone and email inquiries in a professional, thorough, accurate and timely manner.
• Provide guidance as it relates to established loan processes and procedures.
• Research questionable / incorrect transactions to complete resolution and minimal customer impact.
• Process loan transactions for payments, payoffs, exceptions, reversals, escrows, and corrections, etc.
• Maintain Core processing system as needed.
• Produce and validate checks requested daily of loan operations.
• Prepare and submit accurate documentation for lien perfection /release for filing with appropriate party following up as needed.
• Maintain contents of physical files in the file room for all new, modified and closed loans.

To be successful in this role, we require the following:

Education - High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Experience - Six (6) months of financial service, customer service, or related processing experience.

Physical - Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Extended sitting for up to 3 hours at one time

Ability to stand, reach, stoop and use of hands and arms to grasp and manipulate objects and climb step ladders.

The following would be a plus:

• Prior banking experience
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
