Summary/Objective
The Loan Processor Assistant is responsible for assisting the Homeowner services team meet their housing goals. Administrative responsibilities include processing homeowner applications, input of applicant and homebuyer tracking data, report generation and mortgage processing.
Essential Functions
- Assist Homeowner Services staff with daily responsibilities, including document collection, closings, and interaction with homeowner applicants.
- Maintain open communication with members of the department as to the status of the applications, and any other required parties to the transaction process.
- Assist in obtaining updated financial statements, credit reports, and other financial information to maintain the applicant file.
- Assembling the packages of escrow paperwork, documents, and forms.
- Maintain official records and documents, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the industry.
- Maintain confidentiality of homeowner and applicant information as required by state and federal regulations.
- Gathers information from the applicant and creates a homeowner file containing personal and financial information.
- Maintaining all client communications in company HomeKeeper accurately and timely.
- Update HomeKeeper client file with all changes throughout relationship.
- Maintain and monitor foreclosure files.
- Performs other duties as required.
Position Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
- Pass HUD certification within 90 days of employment.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the escrow and mortgage process.
- Ensures policies and procedures are followed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Demonstrates strong communication, negotiation, and mediation skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and program outcomes.
- Knowledge of evaluation and outcome measurement.
- Ability to plan long range goals with the flexibility to change course where appropriate.
- Display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently, work with minimal supervision and demonstrate responsible behavior and attention to details.
- Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations to eliminate duplicative services.

Experience / Education
- Associate degree in accounting or finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Previous loan documentation experience.
- Knowledge of mortgage policies, procedures, state, and federal regulations.
- Proficient in the operation of intermediate level office equipment and software programs; including but not limited to: Client Management Systems (CMS), Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge to assemble, analyze and report data and information in a clear, precise, and objective manner.
- High degree of organizational and time/people management ability.
- Must be understanding, non-judgmental, solutions oriented and a problem solver.
- Ability to build positive and strong relationships with potential homebuyers, key lenders, and customers.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and communication skills, and ability to work effectively on a team.
