Valley Bank is seeking a Lending Specialist to ensure smooth loan processing, from application to closing, while maintaining strong client relationships. The role covers documentation, processing, closing, and ongoing monitoring, with a focus on quality service and proper controls.

The position emphasizes liaison with borrowers and lenders, collaboration with Relationship Managers, and coordination across internal teams to achieve timely closings while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and bank core systems and nCino software.
• Strong customer service, organization, data input, and multi-tasking in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with internal and external customers from approval to closing and through the loan life cycle.
• Manage deal flow with Relationship Managers to ensure timely closings.
• Coordinate and review closing documentation with counsel and internal stakeholders for due diligence and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with transaction flow and design solutions that mitigate risk and ensure controls.
• Partner with operations teams to ensure proper booking, accruals, and daily cash positions.
• Ensure initial loan funding and ongoing life-of-loan activity are processed and booked with stakeholders.
• Review loan documents for closing accuracy and close loans when necessary.
• Communicate issues to lenders prior to closing.
