Job summary

First Community Mortgage in Texas seeks a Mortgage Originator to originate loans meeting guidelines and develop relationships with local agents and builders. You will manage territory and train staff on mortgage basics, with travel as needed.

You will take loan applications, pull credit, conduct seminars, and communicate with borrowers and agents throughout the process. Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• 2+ years of recent in-person mortgage origination experience with a solid book of business.
• Experience in a commission-based origination role.
• Knowledge of VA, FHA and conventional mortgage loan programs.
• Knowledge of running LP, DU and Clout Automated Underwriting Systems.
• Experience with Ellie Mae mortgage originating and processing software.
• Self motivation and capable of working from a home office with limited supervision.
• Ability to review and understand credit reports.
• Ability to organize and prioritize.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Must pass background investigation per company policy.
• Team-oriented and able to work with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Originate high quality loans which meet FCMC guidelines.
• Develop business relationships with local Real Estate agents and builders.
• Manage territory of First National Bank Texas and First Convenience banks; train employees on mortgage loan basics.
• Develop contacts with Banks partner store management team.
• Take customer loan applications, including pulling credit.
• Conduct presentations including First Time Home Buyer Seminars and realtor meetings.
• Communicate with borrowers and real estate agents throughout the loan process.
• Issue and explain pre-qualification letters, disclosures and initial compliance documents (Good Faith Estimates, Truth-In-Lending and APR).
• May serve as general office manager: duties include correspondence, supply maintenance, and staff schedules.
• Act as liaison between locations and corporate management regarding incidents and business needs.
• Travel as needed to meet business needs.
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned.

• This position may also serve as acting liaison between position locations and corporate management regarding office incidents, business needs, and client concerns.
