Job summary

FCM - First Community Mortgage seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator in Amarillo, TX. You will originate loans, develop relationships with real estate agents, and manage a local territory while training bank partners on mortgage basics.

The role requires 2+ years of in-person origination, knowledge of VA/FHA/conventional programs, and the ability to work from a home office with limited supervision. Travel and strong communication are essential. Competitive commission incentives offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of in-person mortgage origination experience with a solid book of business.
• Experience in a commission-based origination role.
• Knowledge of VA, FHA and conventional loan programs.
• Familiarity with LP, DU and Clout Automated Underwriting Systems.
• Experience with Ellie Mae origination software.
• Ability to review credit reports and assess risk.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work from a home office with limited supervision.
• Must pass background check and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Originate high quality loans meeting FCMC guidelines.
• Develop business relationships with local real estate agents and builders.
• Manage territory and train bank employees on mortgage basics.
• Develop contacts with partner store management teams.
• Take customer loan applications, including pulling credit.
• Conduct presentations (First Time Home Buyer Seminars, realtor meetings, etc.).
• Communicate with borrowers and agents throughout the loan process.
• Explain pre-qualification letters and disclosures; include GFE, TIL, APR.
• Possibly serve as general office manager as needed.
• Assist liaison between locations and corporate management.
• Travel as needed to meet business needs.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Position level depends on experience.
• Remain seated/standing for extended periods.
• Operate a computer and office equipment; lift up to 25 pounds.

• Manage territory of First National Bank Texas and First Convenience banks; train employees on mortgage loan basics
• Develop contacts with Banks partner store management team
• Take customer loan applications, including pulling credit
• Conduct presentations to include First Time Home Buyer Seminars, realtor sales meetings, product training, etc.
• Communicate with borrowers and real estate agents throughout the loan process
• Issue and explain pre-qualification letters, disclosures and all other initial compliance documentation for borrower; includes Good Faith Estimates, Truth-In-Lending and APR
• Depending on location and business need, this position may serve as a general office manager. Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, general correspondence, supply maintenance, and clerical staff schedules.
• This position may also serve as acting liaison between position locations and corporate management regarding office incidents, business needs, and client concerns.
