• Hands‑on experience with escrow administration.
• Experience with escrow analysis and reconciliations.
• Experience with test script execution and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Experience performing data validation and post‑conversion operational checks.

Job Title: Loan Operations Specialist

Duration: 12 Month Contract to Hire

Location: Remote - United States, with approximately 50%–60% travel

Rate: $40–$45/hr

Job Summary: Matlen Silver is seeking a Loan Operations Specialist to support core banking conversions, system implementations, and operational cutovers. This position will focus on loan system configuration, payment posting validation, escrow administration, data reconciliation, and operational testing throughout mock conversions, active testing cycles, and live go-live events. The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on back‑office loan operations experience within a banking or financial institution environment and understands how loan servicing processes and configurations operate within a core banking system.

Project Details

• Support core banking conversions, system implementations, and operational cutovers.


• Assist with loan system and parameter configuration.


• Validate loan payment postings and transaction processing.


• Review billing structures and interest accrual configurations.


• Support escrow administration, including escrow accounts and impound disbursements.


• Perform escrow analysis and reconciliations.


• Validate loan data during mock conversions and testing cycles.


• Assist with test script execution and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).


• Perform data validation and post‑conversion operational checks.


• Identify and troubleshoot loan data or processing discrepancies.


• Support live cutover and go‑live activities.


• Work with operations, implementation, testing, and banking teams throughout the conversion process.

Must Haves

• Strong back‑office loan operations experience.


• Experience supporting consumer, commercial, or real estate loan portfolios.


• Strong understanding of loan parameters and system configurations.


• Knowledge of billing structures, interest accruals, and payment posting mechanics.


• Hands‑on experience with escrow administration.


• Experience with escrow analysis and reconciliations.


• Experience with test script execution and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).


• Experience performing data validation and post‑conversion operational checks.


• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%–60%, generally 1–2 trips per month lasting approximately 6–9 consecutive days.


• Ability to work extended and non‑traditional hours during critical cutover and go‑live periods, including evenings, weekends, late nights, and potentially overnight shifts.

Desired Skills

• Previous experience supporting core banking migrations or conversions.


• Experience with financial platform implementations or upgrades.


• Experience supporting bank merger or acquisition cutovers.


• Strong loan reconciliation and data validation skills.


• Experience supporting mock conversions and live go‑live events.


• Ability to troubleshoot loan processing and configuration issues during implementation.

Travel & Schedule

• Approximately 50%–60% travel.


• Typically 1–2 trips per month.


• Trips generally average 6–9 consecutive days.


• Business travel expenses including airfare, hotel, meals, and ground transportation are company‑paid.


• Standard Monday–Friday business hours during steady‑state periods.


• Extended hours may be required during mock conversions, testing cycles, cutovers, and live implementations.
