Job summary

FineMark Bank and Trust, a division of Commerce Bank, seeks an experienced lender to develop new loan relationships and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and business owners. You will advise clients using tailored lending and banking solutions aligned with their financial objectives.

You will analyze credit requests, negotiate terms, and stay ahead of regulatory changes while maintaining strong client relationships in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of lending experience at a financial institution.
• Strong underwriting and credit analysis skills.
• Familiarity with CRA and compliance requirements.
• Ability to develop and maintain loan relationships with high-net-worth clients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure competitive loan pricing by analyzing market conditions.
• Analyze and prepare loan requests per lending policy.
• Review and present credit requests using client contact systems.
• Negotiate credit terms including rates and fees.
• Identify new loan opportunities and monitor regulatory changes affecting lending.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to be responsible for developing new loan relationships and maintaining a portfolio of existing loan relationships with high-net worth individuals, families and business owners. Advises wealth management clients utilizing lending and banking solutions that are aligned with the client’s overall financial objectives and working within FineMark’s team approach. Lending solutions will include wealth management.

Essential Functions

• Ensure competitive loan pricing through analysis of the market and economic conditions
• Ensure that loan requests are thoroughly analyzed and are properly prepared in accordance with the Bank’s lending policy
• Analyze, prepare and present credit requests and utilize the client contact system
• Negotiate credit terms, such as interest rates, fees, etc.
• Identify new loan requests and review new laws and regulations that influence business lending within the financial institution
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Strong understanding of credit administration, compliance, CRA, and all phases of loan documentation and credit file maintenance
• Strong analytical and credit underwriting skills
• Ability to develop loan relationships
• Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
• Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
• Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 8+ years of experience as a lender for a financial institution required
