Job Description

The Loan Officer Associate assists Loan Officers while developing skills to become a Loan Officer in the future. The role involves completing online and classroom educational sessions, along with operational and hands-on training by assisting Loan Officers and Division Managers.

• Participate in formal training programs on lending processes, loan types, credit assessment, and loan approval procedures.
• Complete licensing and continuing education requirements, including RESPA courses.
• Support loan application updates, maintain notes in the Loan Origination System, and assist with initial file setup.
• Develop relationships with builders and realtors, and support local marketing campaigns.
• Act as a primary contact for borrowers, ensuring prompt communication via phone, email, or chat, and scheduling meetings as needed.
• Assist processors and closers in procuring loan documents, and support internal team members with flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; BA or BS preferred.
• Mortgage or banking experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to articulate product features and benefits.
• Customer-focused attitude with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements

Regular in-person attendance at company sites and offices during work hours is essential. Ability to work in confined spaces, operate a vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, and lift equipment over 50 pounds is required.
