Arizona Federal Credit Union in Phoenix, Arizona seeks a supervisor for its commercial loan documentation team. The position requires oversight of loan documentation processes, ensuring quality control standards are met while also maintaining individual production responsibilities.
Ideal candidates will have 7-10 years of relevant experience and a high school diploma or GED. Leadership skills and a strong understanding of commercial lending practices are essential. The role operates in a hybrid work environment with some physical demands.
Provides supervision within the commercial loan documentation function by preparing and reviewing complex and nonstandard loan documents while supporting day-to-day team functions. Provides workflow oversight, technical guidance, and serves as an escalation point to ensure quality control (QC) standards, service level agreements (SLAs), and scorecard expectations are met, including final documentation QC reviews. Coordinates complex documentation and legal review activities, and partners with Processing and Closing, Commercial Quality Control, and Servicing to support efficient, compliant closings. This role is responsible for procedure development, training facilitation, and support of operational improvement initiatives, as needed. In addition to supervisory duties, the position serves as a working supervisor and maintains individual production responsibilities to support pipeline capacity.
High school diploma or GED required, plus seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience supporting commercial loan documentation preparation, attorney‑prepared transactions, commercial lending operations, or related banking operational functions. Candidates must have proven experience in a similar role (e.g., Sr. CRE Documentation Specialist, Sr. CRE Commercial Loan Administrator/Closer, CRE Legal Assistant, or comparable); relevant experience in title/escrow, commercial real estate, or paralegal roles supporting commercial transactions may also be considered.
Advanced knowledge of commercial loan documentation, including entity and formation documents, credit approvals, loan agreements, promissory notes, security agreements, and related instruments. Strong understanding of various collateral types, lien perfection requirements, and documentation needed to support compliant commercial transactions. Ability to interpret and apply credit approvals, due diligence requirements, legal guidance, and procedures to ensure documentation quality, consistency, and compliance. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and support team members while managing performance and operational expectations. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with strong accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high‑volume environment. Strong working knowledge of commercial loan documentation platforms, core processing systems, and workflow tools, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
