Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Loan Documentation Prep Specialist prescreens and/or prepares loan documentation based on information submitted by lending staff. This position ensures loan documents are accurate and compliant with all state and federal regulatory requirements. The Loan Documentation Prep Specialist works regularly to maintain service level standards in a production environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prescreens and prepares documentation for consumer non-real estate, and commercial loan requests.

2. Reviews requests for documentation before determining and applying a hold on the loan submission when applicable.

3. Prepares packages for e-signatures when applicable.

4. Assigns various loan code(s) in the prescreening process to meet regulatory and company reporting requirements.

5. Ensures corrections are made to loan documents as requested by the lender.

6. Responds to phone, email, and internal messaging requests and inquiries from lending staff or other departments promptly and professionally.

7. Reviews prepared loan documents for accuracy before releasing information to lenders.

8. Approve specified placeholders in nCino to ensure offload to onBase.

9. Upload documentation as provided by lending staff to onBase.

10. Responds to requests and tickets through assigned rotation.

11. Prepare administrative renewals as requested and complete onBase checklists for each loan before releasing documentation.

12. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

13. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.

14. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
