Job summary

Orange County’s Federal Credit Union is seeking a Loan Servicing and Collections Specialist to perform collection efforts on delinquent loans, negative shares, and maximize loss recoveries while ensuring compliance with FDCPA, FCRA, and CFPB guidance.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year in collections or loan servicing, and strong customer-service skills. We offer competitive pay ($20–$25 per hour), benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in collections, recoveries, loan servicing, or financial institution required.
• Knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, Reg B & Z, CFPB guidance and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Contacts borrowers to identify non-payment causes and arrange personalized repayment options.
• Establishes payment plans and follows up on promises to pay.
• Works in a call center handling inbound and outbound calls.
• Generates Final Demand Letters and provides reinstatement/redemption requirements.
• Ensures compliance with changing regulations and disseminates updates to the team.
• Supports management in recovering deficiency balances through internal staff or outside agencies.
• Maintains high level of member service and promotes credit union products.
