United Bank Alabama and Florida is seeking a Loan Collateral Specialist to ensure accurate perfection, tracking, and maintenance of all collateral loan documents, including mortgages, deeds of trust, vehicle titles, and UCC filings.
The role supports regulatory compliance and minimizes collateral risk by coordinating with county clerks, DMVs, title companies, and third‑party vendors, while maintaining up‑to‑date collateral tracking systems and resolving title issues.
The Loan Collateral Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate perfection, tracking, and maintenance of all collateral loan documentation, including but not limited to mortgages, deeds of trust, vehicle titles, UCC filings, and other secured instruments. This role safeguards the institution’s lien position, ensures regulatory compliance, and mitigates collateral related risk.
Prepare, review, and file collateral documents including:
Ensure timely and accurate lien perfection in accordance with state and federal requirements
Coordinate with county clerks, DMVs, secretaries of state, title companies, and third-party vendors
Monitor recording confirmations and follow up on rejected filings
Maintain collateral tracking systems
Verify receipt of recorded documents and original titles
Monitor ticklers for UCC continuations and renewals
Investigate and resolve title defects, lien priority issues, and documentation discrepancies
Work with loan officers and processors to correct documentation deficiencies
Any other duties as assigned by Management.
2+ years of banking experience or clerical experience in a professional office environment
Strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated experience in managing high volume tasks with accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
High school diploma or equivalent
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related fields
2+ years of experience working in loan operations, loan documentation, title processing, collateral documentation perfection, or related financial services role.
Excellent communication skills.
