Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Closing Specialist to manage the end-to-end closing process for commercial loans and leases in New York. You will assemble closing packages, verify terms, and coordinate with sales, underwriting, and lenders to ensure timely funding.

You will also handle UCC filings, lien perfection, and document automation tools, while maintaining organized, audit-ready files and CRM data. An emphasis on accuracy, deadlines, and cross-team collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience closing commercial loans or leases—equipment finance, asset-based lending, or similar specialty finance preferred.
• Working knowledge of UCC filings/lien perfection, lease vs. loan classification, and standard commercial closing documentation.
• Hands-on comfort with a loan/lease origination system and CRM (Salesforce or similar), with the instinct to keep workflow data clean and complete.
• Familiarity with e-signature and document automation tools (DocuSign, Nintex, or comparable platforms).
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent closings under deadline pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across sales, underwriting, capital partners, and clients.

Job description

• Prepare, review, and assemble closing packages for accuracy and completeness ahead of funding
• Verify closing documents against approved terms, equipment/collateral descriptions, and underwriting conditions
• Coordinate with sales/relationship staff, underwriting, lenders or capital partners, clients, and outside counsel or title agents
• Manage multiple closings concurrently, tracking deadlines and resolving documentation gaps or stipulations
• Prepare and file UCC-1 financing statements and other lien-perfection filings
• Apply correct lease/loan classification and structure requirements
• Prepare funding instructions and disbursement paperwork and coordinate wire/funding timing
• Maintain compliance with applicable state licensure, lender, and investor requirements
• Own the closing stage of the origination workflow end-to-end
• Maintain accurate, complete, and current deal data in the CRM
• Identify workflow bottlenecks or data gaps and help design fixes with operations/technology
• Use document automation and e-signature tools to generate, route, and execute closing documents
• Maintain organized, audit-ready closing files and support audits/reviews
• Track closing pipeline status and cycle-time metrics, reporting trends or recurring issues to the Financial Controller
• Contribute to process documentation and training materials
