Job summary

CBI Bank & Trust is seeking a Loan Administrator to support loan processing and servicing. The role interfaces between loan officers, credit administration, and other departments to ensure timely origination and accurate portfolio maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; 2-year associate degree or 3+ years related experience preferred.
  • Proficient with mainframe systems and office software.
  • Strong math skills and ability to compute rates and percentages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to document and report.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.

  • Handle documentation and recordkeeping for titles and mortgages.

Job description

Description

The position of Loan Administrator provides support to department by interfacing between loan officer and credit administration as well as other departments to assist in loan processing and servicing activities, reports, special projects, file maintenance, and other various administrative duties. This position is necessary to enhance the timely origination and proper maintenance of the loan portfolio, and to enhance the quality of customer service. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all loans being processed.
  • Book and disburse new loans, renewals, and modifications to the core system. Ensure information is properly processed on the various computer systems.
  • Process documents for titles and mortgage recordings and conduct follow-up. Release liens on titles and mortgages as requested.
  • Prepare daily and monthly settlement reports with various loan-related vendors (i.e. insurance company, SBA, Freddie Mac, etc.).
  • Researching and resolving exception reports and perform file maintenance.
  • Maintain escrow accounts to ensure accuracy of escrow balances and that taxes and insurance payments are made timely; conduct escrow analysis.
  • Track and follow up on incoming recordable documents.
  • Maintain loan files according to procedure. Monitor working loan files to ensure proper documents are obtained.
  • Answer telephone calls and record messages, type departmental correspondence, prepare reports, committee memorandums, management reports, and credit file documentation.
  • Responds to customers inquiries by phone and in person and assists them with their needs.
  • Track, process and report on Skip-a-Pay campaigns or other special offers.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or the equivalent required; Associate’s degree from a two year college or university; or three or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Work related experience should consist of a background in lending, operations, and customer service skills. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
  • Proficient skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; and word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
  • Proficient math skills; calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
  • Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
